Philipp — Loved beyond death?

I had the plea­su­re of mee­ting Phil­ipp Micken­be­cker in per­son on 24.12.2020. He died six months later. But his life and death touch­ed mil­li­ons of peo­p­le. The influen­cer known for “The Real Life Guys” appeared on almost every well-known talk show. In his inter­views, he radia­ted an authen­tic joy and peace despi­te his ongo­ing batt­le with can­cer. He repea­ted­ly empha­si­zed that Jesus was his source of strength and hope. He see­med to feel tru­ly loved by Jesus: “Whe­ther I live or die — I trust Jesus”. But how can you feel loved by someone you can’t see?

Just as you can’t see the wind but can feel its effects, he expe­ri­en­ced Jesus and expe­ri­en­ced this deep inner peace from him. This allo­wed him to sleep peaceful­ly at the hour of his death and go home to his hea­ven­ly Father. He had accept­ed the invi­ta­ti­on from Jesus, who pro­mi­sed: “Ever­yo­ne who belie­ves in me will not peri­sh but have eter­nal life with God” (the Bible accor­ding to John 3 ver­se 16). In the inter­views (see below), he speaks open­ly about his strug­gles, but also about his hope, which goes bey­ond death.
