The feeling of the sky

Ever­yo­ne knows them: The fee­lings when you’­re in love . You can embrace the who­le world with them. Life feels so easy and beau­tiful. You feel immor­tal, can tear down trees and sud­den­ly do things you never thought pos­si­ble befo­re. Tidy grou­ch­es beco­me experts at tidy­ing up, hair­dress­ers give them­sel­ves a new hair­cut and so on. And all becau­se of a sin­gle per­son who has recent­ly come into your life. And every time you meet this per­son or think about them, the fee­lings of hap­pi­ness come floo­ding back. You want to hold on to the moment fore­ver and float on cloud nine.

But at some point, the moment comes when the air is let out of cloud nine and the pink paint peels off. You dis­co­ver the other per­son’s dark sides, rough edges. But what now? Some turn away to get that kick again from ano­ther per­son who seems to be “bet­ter”. Others deci­de to love the per­son despi­te their flaws.

In all the­se expe­ri­en­ces, the desi­re to sim­ply be loved grows. No ifs, no buts. Even if the but­ter­flies fly away or the mas­ca­ra smud­ges. But does uncon­di­tio­nal love exist? Or is the­re “THE” per­son who can love like that? We all want it. But the secret is: the first step in this direc­tion is to beco­me that per­son our­sel­ves. We will pro­ba­b­ly reach our human limits again and again. But from this decis­i­on grows a new, much deeper form of love. “Is love a decis­i­on?”
